Holding a tiny camera in the palm of his hands, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said there are spies in his midst.

The spy cam was being used to spy on meetings at the National Palace, AMLO said.

Lopez Obrador showed the device to reporters Tuesday at his morning news conference.

But the camera wouldn’t have been very revealing to his enemies. “There’s nothing secret, nothing is hidden, for that reason we don’t consider this a big deal,” he said.

The bugged room is used for meetings with people bringing proposals to the government.

He did not speculate on who put it there or how long it had been operating.
